Club Statement
Edgware & Kingsbury FC can confirm that Rak Hudson has resigned as manager with immediate effect.
We would like to thank Rak for his hard work, dedication during his time with us and the memories he has given us all.
Rak had the following to say about his departure from the club:
“I would like to thank Dan and Anthony Manzi for giving me the opportunity to manage a club close to my heart. I played for Edgware at under 18s level and then in the first team as a teenager, over twenty years ago. So to manage the club will always be special to me and a memory that I will cherish forever.
I am pleased that the players and my management team were able to produce back-to-back best finishes since reformation in 2014. This was a great achievement. There have been ups and downs, as there always are, but I am extremely proud of our work, our performances and the way we have carried ourselves. There are so many memorable moments to look back on and so many talented players have pulled on the green and white quarters during this time.
I would like to thank every player that played a part in our journey during the last four years. I would also like to thank the selfless and talented management team who have given up their time and expertise to support the project.
I would also like to thank everyone who has contributed to the club in the last four years, including supporters, photography, videography, social media and much much more. I won’t mention all the names as there are too many, but thank you to you all.
I believe the current cycle has come to a natural end, and it is time to hand the baton over to someone else. I wish the club a bright future and will continue to follow their progress with interest.“
On Matchday our Chairperson Anthony Manzi said the following:
“As we gather for another exciting match day, I want to take a moment to reflect on the journey we’ve shared over the past four years with our outgoing manager, Rak Hudson. Today marks the end of an era, and I would like to use this opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the tremendous contribution he has made to our football club.
From day one, Rak has been the epitome of professionalism, displaying an exceptional character and temperament that has not only inspired the players but also won the hearts of everyone associated with the club. His unwavering dedication to the badge has seen us through countless highs and lows, always facing challenges with dignity and determination. His leadership has been instrumental in fostering a strong sense of unity, both within the team and among our supporters.
Over these four years, we’ve enjoyed some truly memorable moments. There have been significant successes, with results and performances that have filled us all with pride. These achievements reflect Rak’s deep understanding of the game, his tactical acumen, and his ability to bring out the best in the players he works with. But beyond the results, it’s his stewardship of the club's values and culture that will leave a lasting legacy. He has been more than just a manager – he has been a true custodian of this football club.
While change is an inevitable part of football, it is never easy to say goodbye to someone who has given so much. We are immensely grateful for all that Rak has done, and I know I speak for everyone at the club when I say that he leaves with our deepest respect and gratitude. He has laid a strong foundation for the future, and we are excited to build upon the work he has done.
On behalf of the board, players, staff, and supporters, I want to wish Rak all the best in his next venture. Wherever his next chapter takes him, he will always be part of the the E&K family.
Thank you, Rak, for your remarkable service to this football club. You will be greatly missed, but your legacy will endure. “
We wish him well in his future.
